Service Terms
Last updated: September 23, 2026These terms apply to services provided by Taverax.
Quotes and estimates
Quotes are based on the information provided before service begins.
If the actual issue, device condition, requested work, or scope of service is substantially different from what was described, Taverax may revise the quote before continuing.
Submitting a quote request does not confirm an appointment.
Diagnostic and service fees
Diagnostic, travel, or service-call fees may apply even when a problem cannot be fully repaired.
Any applicable fee will be communicated before work begins whenever practical.
Parts and hardware
Replacement parts, upgrades, cables, adapters, storage devices, and other hardware are billed separately unless specifically included in the quote.
Taverax will obtain customer approval before purchasing or installing paid hardware whenever practical.
Customer data and backups
Computer repair, upgrades, operating-system work, malware removal, data transfers, and troubleshooting may involve a risk of data loss.
Customers are responsible for maintaining backups of important files whenever possible before service begins.
Taverax will take reasonable care when working with customer devices but cannot guarantee against:
- data loss
- pre-existing hardware failure
- storage-device failure
- corrupted software
- damage caused by existing defects
Advanced recovery from physically damaged or severely failing drives may be referred to a specialized data-recovery provider.
Passwords and account access
Customers should enter passwords themselves whenever practical.
If temporary credentials are provided for service, customers are encouraged to change them after the work is completed.
Malware and security
Taverax may assist with malware cleanup, device security settings, account security, and related troubleshooting.
No computer system, network, or security configuration can be guaranteed to prevent every future compromise or security incident.
Third-party software and services
Some repairs or setups may involve third-party software, internet providers, hardware manufacturers, subscription services, or cloud platforms.
Taverax is not responsible for outages, policy changes, account restrictions, or service failures caused by third-party providers.
Appointments and access
Customers are responsible for providing reasonable access to the device, home, network equipment, or accounts necessary to perform the agreed service.
Taverax may reschedule when necessary due to availability, travel conditions, safety concerns, or unexpected service delays.
In-home service
For in-home visits, customers should provide a reasonably safe working environment and disclose any access concerns, pets, or conditions that could affect the service visit.
Drop-off service
Devices left with Taverax should not contain items unrelated to the requested service.
Customers should remove or back up highly sensitive information whenever possible before drop-off.
Payment
Payment is due when service is completed unless another arrangement has been agreed to in advance.
Parts or special-order hardware may require payment before purchase.
Right to decline or stop service
Taverax may decline or stop work if:
- the job presents safety concerns
- the requested work appears illegal or unauthorized
- the job requires licensing or expertise outside the services offered
- the actual condition differs substantially from the original request
- continuing work could cause unreasonable risk to the customer’s device or data
No guarantee of repair
Some technical problems cannot be economically or practically repaired.
Payment for diagnostic or agreed service work does not guarantee that every issue can be resolved.
